JAMB Registration Help

Get Your JAMB Profile Code

Generate or retrieve your JAMB profile code via SMS — the first step to UTME and Direct Entry registration. Fast, simple and stress-free.

Generate Your Profile Code
Enter your 11-digit NIN and tap Proceed. Your SMS app will open with the pre-filled message — just hit Send from your personal JAMB phone number.
Have at least ₦100 airtime available before sending the SMS. This is a recommended safety margin to avoid a failed transaction, not a confirmed official JAMB fee.
Before You Generate Your Profile Code
A valid 11-digit NIN
Your own personal phone number/SIM used for JAMB transactions
Sufficient airtime — at least ₦100 recommended
Active access to the SIM that will receive JAMB's SMS
Correct personal details already linked to your NIN
Use your own appropriate phone number and keep it safe — it stays linked to your JAMB profile for future transactions, including result checking and admission updates.
Step by Step

How It Works

1
Confirm your NIN
Enter your correct 11-digit National Identification Number in the box above.
2
Select the SMS gateway
Choose 55019 or 66019 as your SMS destination number.
3
Send the correct SMS
The message must follow this format — "NIN", a space, then your 11-digit NIN. Example: NIN 12345678901
4
Send from your phone
Send the SMS from the phone/SIM you use for your JAMB transactions, and make sure you have at least ₦100 airtime.
5
Receive your Profile Code
JAMB sends your 10-character Profile Code to the same phone number — usually received shortly, although delays can occur because of network or system traffic. Save it securely for registration.
If You Don't Receive Your Profile Code
Confirm the SMS format is exactly "NIN" followed by a space and your 11-digit NIN.
Confirm there's only one space between "NIN" and the numbers — no double spacing.
Confirm you're sending from the correct phone/SIM used for your JAMB transactions.
Make sure the SIM is active and you have enough airtime.
Wait a little longer — delays can happen during network or system congestion.
If you're retrieving an existing code, try the official RESEND method below.
Still stuck? Use JAMB's official support/ticketing channel — see below.
To retrieve a lost Profile Code, send RESEND to 55019 or 66019 from the same phone number associated with your JAMB profile — this is the same number the "Retrieve Existing Profile Code" button above prepares for you.
Need Help With a JAMB Profile Code Issue? JAMB provides an official support/ticketing system for Profile Code, NIN and registration-related complaints. You can also try sending HELP to 55019 or 66019. Visit jamb.gov.ng for the official website and support portal.

JAMB Regularization

JAMB Regularization makes a student's admission officially recognized by JAMB when it was granted outside the normal UTME or Direct Entry channels.

Who Needs Regularization?
Part-Time, NCE, OND and HND students
Students admitted without JAMB registration
Direct Entry candidates not on the JAMB matriculation list
Note: Failure to regularize an admission where regularization is required can affect subsequent JAMB-related processes, including Direct Entry documentation or NYSC mobilization.
Common Questions

Profile Code FAQ

A unique 10-character code required for JAMB UTME and Direct Entry registration. It links your NIN to your JAMB profile and is needed to purchase your e-PIN and complete registration.
Enter your 11-digit NIN above, select 55019 or 66019 as the SMS gateway, tap Proceed, and send the pre-filled SMS from your personal JAMB phone number.
Type "NIN" followed by a single space and your 11-digit NIN — for example, "NIN 12345678901".
Send it to 55019 or 66019. Both are official JAMB shortcodes — try the other one if one doesn't respond.
Have at least ₦100 airtime available before sending. This is a recommended safety margin, not a confirmed official JAMB fee.
Yes — as long as you still have access to the phone number linked to your JAMB profile.
Tap "Retrieve Existing Profile Code" above, or manually send RESEND to 55019 or 66019 from the same phone number used to create your profile.
Double-check the SMS format and spacing, confirm you used the correct phone/SIM, make sure you have enough airtime, and wait a little in case of network delay. See the troubleshooting section above for the full checklist.
It's strongly discouraged. Your JAMB profile stays tied to the phone number used to create it, and that number receives important updates — always use your own.
You'll need your Profile Code, an e-PIN, your NIN, O'Level result(s), a valid phone number, an email address, and your institution/course choice to complete registration at an accredited CBT centre.
